Growing up in Red Deer, Reid has had the opportunity to be involved with basketball in this city from a young age. Over the course of his dual-degree in education and kinesiology and beyond, he has coached women's basketball for over 8 years. Coming back to Red Deer after his degree, he saw a need to provide more opportunities for competitive development of the women's side of basketball in the fall and spring seasons, and thus HYPE Hoops was born. Reid oversees coaching development, player development, financials, and program planning for HYPE Hoops, on top of coaching multiple teams and programs both in HYPE Hoops as well as the local high school and junior high systems.
